Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. plans to invest U.S. $ 500 million for the development of research and development center in Bangalore, India, within a period of five years.

Sites mentioned chinaknowledge telecommunications equipment vendors are also planning to increase the number of workers in research and development center in India from 2,000 people to 5,000 people.

Huawei CEO Max Yang said it was targeting the 3G market in India and the target to come out as the winner of the tender third-generation technology from mobile operators in the country, as the largest operator Bharti Airtel.

“India including market-sensitive pricing and Huawei will be doing business in this country for the long term,” said Yang.

The second largest vendor in the world is also targeting India as a global market liaison and planning for local manufacturers to produce telecommunications equipment.

Huawei mentioning earned U.S. $ 1 billion from the Indian market in 2009 and the target revenue this year with last year setera.
