Feminist Art Forum
A Collaboration of riffRAG and Flux Factory

What
A monthly gathering of young, feminist artists that serves as a forum for discussion, analysis and inspiration. Each month the forum will feature one artist who presents on their work or a chosen topic and moderates a discussion. Presenters, curated by riffRAG and the Flux Factory, facilitate the direction of the discussion based on their own interests and expertise. However, this forum also serves as an opportunity for other artists to bring works in progress, build community and evaluate the process of creating identity.

Mission
To provide an opportunity for talented and often under-recognized artists to present their work. We hope to raise questions about the tensions between individualism and community. The worlds of art and progressive political work are incredibly fractured into micro-scenes. It is our intention to create a space for young women, and their allies, from diverse subcultures, mediums, agendas, backgrounds and professions to exchange ideas and resources. Given the current social and political context, which effects us at a global, national, local and personal level, it is necessary to promote collaboration among feminist artists in order to support each other and use our work to effectively leverage a challenge to oppression in all its forms.
