  ISSUE 2 <—back next—> FALL 2006

laimah
Kiss

This is an ode to queer love. Spring 2006: rebirth, a shedding of skin, donning a new costume, and carving a new mask to show future possibility of a love that is practiced with peace and honesty.

In this moment, I am fascinated with homemade printmaking techniques. I want to steal the digital image from the flickering computer screen and print it with homemade "technology." With this image, I limited my colors and paid close attention to my lines. I wanted to make sure it was reproducible and wouldn’t lose its impact when inked onto paper/fabric/etc.
